Jika lingkar lehermu melampaui batas risiko, tidak perlu langsung khawatir, tetapi jangan mengabaikannya juga. Lingkar leher hanyalah satu bagian dari gambaran kesehatan secara keseluruhan, tetapi bisa memberi petunjuk yang kerap terlewat.
Kabar baiknya, ukuran lingkar leher bisa berubah dengan bantuan gaya hidup sehat. Olahraga kardio dan/atau latihan beban dapat membantu mengurangi lemak tubuh bagian atas. Tidur berkualitas mendukung metabolisme dan pemulihan. Sementara pola makan seimbang yang kaya akan kacang-kacangan, buah, dan sayuran memberikan nutrisi penting tanpa kalori berlebih.
Cara mengukurnya pun sederhana. Cukup lilitkan pita ukur di bagian leher yang paling ramping, pastikan menempel namun tidak terlalu ketat. Dalam hitungan detik, kamu bisa mendapat gambaran tentang risiko kesehatan yang mungkin tidak terlihat dari luar.
Lingkar leher memang bukan pengganti pemeriksaan kesehatan lain, tetapi bisa menjadi alat tambahan yang bermanfaat untuk memahami kondisi kardiovaskular dan metabolisme.
