Lagu "Our Song" menggambarkan tentang kisah cinta pasangan remaja yang begitu indah sekaligus sederhana. Saat remaja, cinta begitu mudah dan tidak banyak menuntut karena satu sama lain fokus untuk saling menikmati setiap momennya.
Berdasarkan liriknya, Taylor secara detail menyebutkan gaya khas percintaan para remaja, seperti berbicara di telepon hingga larut malam, tertawa bersama, hingga berkendara bersama di dalam mobil.
Taylor sendiri mengaku bahwa lagu ini ia tulis saat SMA. Kala itu ia dengan pacarnya tidak memiliki lagu yang bisa dinyanyikan bersama. Itulah alasan yang akhirnya mendorong Taylor menulis lagu "Our Song".
Taylor sempat menyanyikan lagu ciptaannya ini di acara pencarian bakat di sekolahnya. Teman-temannya pun menyambut lagu "Our Song" sehingga ia memutuskan untuk memasukkannya ke dalam debut album pada 2006.
