Pada Senin (5/1/2026), Manajemen Artist Company mengumumkan kepergian Ahn Sung Ki. Ia mengembuskan napas terakhir di Rumah Sakit Universitas Soonchunhyang, Seoul pada pukul 09.00 KST atau 07.00 WIB. Pemakaman sang aktor berada di bawah pengawasan Yayasan Seni dan Budaya Shin Young-chul dan Asosiasi Aktor Film Korea.
Sementara itu pemakaman akan berlangsung di Gedung Pemakaman Rumah Sakit St. Mary Seoul, kamar 31 pada 9 Januari 2026. Presiden Korea Selatan, Lee Jae Myung turut mengucapkan belasungkawa lewat akun Facebook resmi. Selain itu, Kementerian Kebudayaan, Olahraga, dan Pariwisata memberikan penghormatan, yakni penghargaan budaya Order of Cultural Merit.
