Dilansir buku "Model Pembelajaran SMA Bahasa Inggris" oleh Kemdikbud, passive voice adalah kalimat pasif yang berarti sang subjek menerima tindakan atau kegiatan dari kata kerja. Berbeda dengan kalimat aktif yang subjeknya melakukan tindakan. Untuk rumusnya, bentuk dasar dari passive voice adalah Subject + Auxiliary verb + past participle (V3) + Object.
