Hindari keluar dan aktivitas berat pada jam-jam terpanas.
Cari tempat teduh atau ruangan sejuk setidaknya beberapa jam sehari.
Tutup tirai saat siang, buka ventilasi saat malam jika udara luar lebih sejuk.
Pakai pakaian longgar dan ringan.
Mandi atau kompres air sejuk.
Minum teratur.
Kalau pakai kipas angin, perhatikan suhu ruangan. Pada suhu yang sangat tinggi, kipas saja bisa tidak cukup dan justru meniupkan udara panas ke tubuh. Jika memungkinkan, gunakan pendingin ruangan, tempat umum yang sejuk, atau cooling center.
Gelombang panas merupakan stres fisiologis bagi tubuh. Makin cepat risikonya dikenali, makin besar peluang untuk mencegahnya berubah menjadi keadaan darurat.
