Manfaat dari latihan lari di tanjakan sangat luas, seperti membantu:
Kekuatan.
Efisiensi.
Running economy.
Kapasitas aerobik.
Ketahanan mental.
Bahkan pelari track elite sekalipun sering memasukkan sesi tanjakan dalam program latihan mereka.
Lari di tanjakan memberi stimulus unik yang melibatkan kekuatan otot, kapasitas jantung dan paru, efisiensi gerakan, hingga ketahanan mental secara bersamaan. Karena tubuh harus melawan gravitasi, otot bekerja lebih keras dan sistem kardiorespirasi mendapat tantangan lebih besar dibanding lari datar biasa. Dalam jangka panjang, latihan ini dapat membantu pelari menjadi lebih kuat, lebih efisien, dan lebih siap menghadapi effort tinggi.
Namun, seperti semua bentuk latihan intensitas tinggi, latihan tanjakan tetap perlu dilakukan secara bertahap. Dan, jangan lupa untuk memberi tubuh kesempatan untuk beradaptasi dengan aman dan konsisten.
