Lembaran kertas menyapa tinta
Jemariku berbelok menatap jendela
Lentera meredup dan menyala
Gemuruh suara angin menerpa
Kentungan terpelanting
Sesepuh berwajah muram
Nada dering melengking
Pemuda matanya terpejam
Firasatku tidak lagi bersahabat
Tembakauku tidak lagi nikmat
Bunga kesukaan ibu layu
Sarung kesukaan bapak lusuh
Siapa gerangan mereka?
Menenteng besi dan berbaris
Bocah itu menjerit penjajah tiba!
Senyumku menciut tak lagi manis
Bising!
Perih!
Gelap gulita!
Kali ini jemariku tak berdaya
Butiran air ini menyiksa mata
Tanahku kembali rata
Layaknya sedia kala
