Kalau ada riwayat kolesterol tinggi, hipertensi, diabetes, obesitas, merokok, atau riwayat penyakit jantung dalam keluarga, pemeriksaan profil lipid sebaiknya dilakukan secara rutin. Ini terutama penting jika setelah Iduladha muncul keluhan seperti nyeri dada, sesak, atau tekanan darah meningkat.
Banyak orang merasa sehat-sehat saja meski kolesterolnya tinggi, padahal LDL tinggi sering tidak bergejala sampai terjadi komplikasi serius. Karena itu, pemeriksaan laboratorium tetap penting, terutama pada kelompok berisiko.
