Kalau tersedia kelapa segar yang dibuka secara higienis dan bisa langsung diminum, pilihan ini lebih baik untuk rasa alami dan menghindari perubahan akibat pemrosesan. Namun, ini tidak membuat air kelapa kemasan menjadi pilihan buruk.
Air kelapa kemasan 100 persen tanpa gula tambahan, terutama yang diproses dengan metode yang mempertahankan kualitas, tetap bisa menjadi pilihan bergizi dan praktis.
Bahkan, untuk penyimpanan dan keamanan mikrobiologis, produk komersial yang diproses dengan benar mempunyai keunggulan yang tidak dimiliki air kelapa yang sudah lama dibiarkan setelah dibuka.
