Gunakan ubi yang sudah dimasak, misalnya dikukus atau direbus, kemudian blender bersama air atau cairan lain secukupnya.
Pemanasan juga membantu menurunkan aktivitas trypsin inhibitor, protein alami pada ubi yang dapat menghambat kerja enzim pencernaan protein. Pemanasan pada suhu sekitar 100 derajat Celcius secara signifikan menurunkan aktivitas senyawa tersebut.
Tidak perlu menyaring minuman jika teksturnya masih dapat diterima, dan hindari menambahkan gula dalam jumlah banyak.
