Mikroplastik telah menjadi bahan yang hampir tak terhindarkan dalam makanan modern. Bukti dari berbagai kajian ilmiah internasional menunjukkan keberadaan mikroplastik dalam seafood, garam, air minum kemasan, beras, buah, sayuran, dan bahkan produk protein olahan. Paparan ini mencerminkan luasnya penetrasi plastik ke dalam lingkungan dan rantai makanan manusia.
