Nyeri yang tidak membaik setelah istirahat beberapa hari.
Nyeri tajam di satu titik (bukan menyebar).
Pembengkakan signifikan atau kemerahan.
Nyeri saat berjalan atau aktivitas ringan.
Kecurigaan fraktur stres.
Diagnosis dini penting untuk mencegah komplikasi seperti patah tulang stres.
Shin splints merupakan hasil akumulasi stres yang sebenarnya bisa dikenali sejak awal. Gejalanya berkembang bertahap, dari nyeri ringan saat aktivitas hingga rasa sakit yang mengganggu aktivitas sehari-hari. Ketika gejala dikenali lebih awal, intervensi sederhana seperti istirahat dan modifikasi latihan bisa mencegah cedera yang lebih serius.
