Makanan tinggi gula sederhana seperti minuman manis, kue, atau permen memang memberikan energi cepat. Namun, efeknya tidak bertahan lama dan sering diikuti penurunan energi yang drastis.
Penelitian menunjukkan bahwa konsumsi gula sederhana dapat menyebabkan fluktuasi glukosa darah yang memengaruhi energi dan konsentrasi.
Selain itu, makanan tinggi lemak jenuh dan gorengan juga sebaiknya dibatasi karena dapat memperlambat pencernaan dan membuat tubuh terasa lebih berat. Dalam kondisi aktivitas tinggi, tubuh membutuhkan efisiensi, bukan beban tambahan.
Makanan menjadi fondasi yang menentukan seberapa baik tubuh bisa bertahan dalam kondisi yang menantang, seperti saat haji. Memilih karbohidrat kompleks, cukup protein, menjaga hidrasi, dan menghindari makanan dan minuman tertentu bisa membuat perbedaan besar dalam kelancaran rangkaian ibadah haji.
